Position Title: Temporary Protection Services Associate
Position Type: Temporary
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Division: Operations and Administration
Department: Protection Services
Reports to: Protection Services Manager, and Supervisors
Position Summary: The Temporary Protection Services Associate will ensure the safety and security of museum visitors, staff, and facilities while providing an exceptional experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Present a welcoming demeanor and provide information to guests entering the assigned area.
  • Interact courteously with the public and uphold Museum policies.
  • Patrol assigned areas to deter vandalism, theft, or safety hazards.
  • Ensure protection of the museum premises from criminal activities and safety hazards.
  • Prepare gallery objects and regulate traffic flow through galleries.
  • Handle evacuations and emergencies following Museum policies.
  • Provide first aid and CPR when necessary.
  • Report any suspicious activities or incidents promptly.
  • Escort individuals through the galleries as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Stay informed about Museum policies, activities, and events to provide excellent customer service.
  • Familiarize with Museum buildings, grounds, and community to assist guests effectively.
  • Check email for schedule updates and notifications.
  • Operate company vehicles as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Driver's license and good driving record.
  • Background in customer service.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly.
  • Observant, friendly, and good judgment.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year in customer service.
  • Security experience in a public environment preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift objects.
  • Ability to work in various conditions and interact with diverse individuals.
  • Visual acuity and flexibility in work hours.
  • Ongoing flexibility in work hours.
