We are currently looking for a Lead Account Manager to oversee a portfolio of clients and provide support and guidance on employee benefit service and renewals. Ideally, we prefer candidates residing in southeast Michigan who can attend occasional meetings at our Farmington Hills office. However, this role can also be performed remotely for individuals with the appropriate background and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist employers and employees with benefit inquiries, enrollments, claim matters, and billing concerns. For instance, if a client encounters a claim issue, gather the necessary documentation for investigation with the carrier. Upon resolution, update the client accordingly.
  • Manage the renewal process for existing clients, ensuring adherence to the designated timeline. This includes overseeing the completion of presentations by Rate Analysts, scheduling client meetings for renewal presentations, and facilitating Open Enrollment sessions for employees.
  • Handle benefit changes with current carriers or transitions to new providers, ensuring all required paperwork is finalized, signed by the client, and submitted for processing, followed by confirmation of successful processing by the carrier.
  • Execute new business with existing or new clients, organizing and dispatching essential paperwork for signature and processing, with subsequent confirmation of the change completion by the carrier.
  • Comprehend client requirements varying from COBRA compliance to ERISA regulations.
  • Maintain an internal client database effectively.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Strong written and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Intermediate level of expertise in Microsoft Excel

Experience, Education, and Certification:

  • Minimum of 3 years in Benefits Administration
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferably holds a Health Insurance Agent License
