JOB SUMMARY :

Responsible for the daily management of the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention and Healthy Homes Program and supervision of 2 staff members.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


Coordinate lead poisoning prevention and healthy homes education to health care providers, clinics, childcare, and faith-based organizations, and other community stakeholders to educate and increase awareness on topics of lead poisoning and healthy homes principles throughout eight northern New Jersey counties: Bergen, Essex (excluding Newark), Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex Union, and Warren.

Supervise, coach, and monitor two CLPP Program Specialists.
Identify, hire, onboard, and train new staff members.

Manage the program budget:

ensure timely and appropriate spending according to the approved budget, create and submit check requests, and review and assess budget variance reports.

Share eco-healthy childcare information and resources with childcare centers monthly; provide training when requested.

Coordinate four lead poisoning prevention coalitions, which meet quarterly, performing requisite administrative functions (meeting agenda, set-up, editing/distributing minutes, etc.): Passaic/Bergen/Essex; Morris/Sussex/Warren; Union, and Hudson.

Collaborate with local entities to increase access to the lead and healthy homes presentations and to solicit representatives for the coalition membership (local and county departments, faith institutions, community-based organizations, healthcare organizations, childcare centers, housing departments, etc.)
Share educational materials with coalition members and target communities.
Plan outreach events and activities with coalition members for Lead Poisoning Prevention Week each October.

Represent the Partnership at the New Jersey Department of Health Interagency Taskforce on the Prevention of Lead Poisoning meetings and provide CLPPP activity updates.

Complete quarterly progress reports in the program's approved format to be submitted to the Department of Health via SAGE.
Maintain open communication with a representative from the program funder, NJ DOH.
Collaborate with a representative from the Green and Healthy Homes Initiative, per the funder's request.
Ensure records are maintained in an organized manner and program information is tracked accurately.
Continuously assess program materials, including presentations to ensure accurate, up-to-date information is being shared. Ensure cultural humility and appropriateness, and accessibility. Consider the approachability and engagement of participants.
Handle other assignments as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A Master's degree in Public Health, Health Education, Environmental Health, or a related field is preferred.
Program planning and management. Health education/community health experience required.
Self-directed, ability to speak to large groups of people of varying demographics, and ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Good verbal and written communication skills
