Position Summary:

Join our team at the Metro YMCA of the Oranges as a STEM Camp Specialist and be part of a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.


Location:
Lincoln Avenue School, 216 Lincoln Ave, Orange, 07050

Salary:
$20-$22 per hour

Essential Functions:
  • Plan, organize, and lead activities tailored to children's interests
  • Instruct and support counselors in the specialty area
  • Manage supply inventory and keep storage area organized
  • Assist in carrying out camp themes and events
  • Build positive relationships with campers and families
  • Maintain camp cleanliness and safety standards
  • Participate in all activities and ensure a positive camp experience

Safety:
  • Attend and complete all required trainings
  • Adhere to camp safety standards and risk management policies
  • Implement discipline strategies and uphold quality standards
  • Report any concerns promptly to supervisors

Other Duties:
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude
  • Create a nurturing learning environment for youth development
  • Be punctual, reliable, and motivated

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Teaching certification preferred
  • Experience in leading STEM projects with children
  • Minimum 2 years working with school-age kids
  • Knowledge of youth development stages
  • Experience with diverse populations preferred

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lead indoor/outdoor activities
