Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Provide architectural/engineering consulting services for Building Enclosure Projects. This may include performing and or leading field investigations, architectural/engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design, and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided. Review drawings and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress and budgets, and recommend changes. Research and resolve design and construction problems. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports. Apply sound architectural/engineering principles and be able to communicate complex issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the commercial, retail, multi-family, hotel, senior living, industrial, and or governmental sectors.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure the team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices.
  • Develop an understanding and be aware of the project-related risks. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company.
  • A senior-level architectural/ engineering professional provides the technical direction required for the production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects.
  • Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design and/or investigative approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the architectural/engineering work on a project of moderate scope.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate architectural/engineering work involving conventional architectural/engineering practices, which may include a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements.
  • Review projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques, supervise the analysis and formulation of recommendations in written reports to clients and provide technical review of reports.
  • Lead technical training and make informed decisions based on state-of-the-art technological issues.
  • Provide leadership in marketing, sales, and business development.
  • May supervise less experienced engineers/architects or technical support personnel on projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
  • Minimum 8-11 years' experience.
  • Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Registered Architect or Professional Engineer.
Preferred Certification:
  • Registered Roof Consultant (RRC)
  • Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC)
  • Registered Roof Observer (RRO) or Register Roof Consultant
  • Registered Building Enclosure Consultant (RBEC)
  • Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC)
  • LEED AP or one other relevant certification
