General Description:
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced analytics professional to join their team as the Director of Research and Evaluation. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the implementation of Texas' innovative community college finance approach. Your main responsibility will be overseeing the development of a forecasting system to estimate colleges' future performance for funding purposes, along with various other tasks related to policy and program evaluation.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the CCF forecasting system and associated tools.
  • Hire and supervise Research Analysts.
  • Analyze the forecasting and funding models.
  • Conduct program evaluations.
  • Develop data tools.
  • Stay updated on higher education research and policies.
  • Respond to research inquiries.
  • Assist in communications and policy development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of quantitative research methods.
  • Proficiency in data management and processing.
  • Familiarity with higher education and Texas state government.
  • Ability to use various programming languages for analysis.
  • Effective communication and managerial skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with quantitative coursework.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience in data analysis or forecasting.
  • Graduate education and managerial experience are preferred.
  • Knowledge of public higher education and Texas policies is a plus.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions:
Work will be in a standard office environment, requiring regular attendance, computer usage, and ability to work under deadlines.
