Position Title:
Summer Day Camp Activities Specialist

Report To:
Summer Day Camp Director

Education:
Associate's Degree in education, child development, or related field or equivalent work experience with youth activity and programming

Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Specific knowledge and work experience in child development and programming for middle school youth
- Preferred experience with STEAM programming
- Ability to work in a team and with children
- Support The Salvation Army's mission
- Pass background check

Responsibilities:
- Plan STEAM focused day camp activities and field trips
- Supervise day camp staff and counselors
- Assist with children supervision and activities
- Chaperone field trips
- Participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children
- Help with meals and snacks
- Maintain accurate records
- Drive transit vehicle
- Organize summer showcase events
- Maintain cleanliness of camp areas
- Communicate concerns with supervisors
- Adhere to Safe From Harm policies
- Other duties as assigned

Position Ranking:
Seasonal Full-Time Summer, $20.00 Hourly

Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Clear criminal background check
- Capable of moderate to heavy physical work
- Current in first aid, CPR, and Mandatory Child Abuse training

Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
- Ability to keep up with youth activities
- Physically fit for indoor and outdoor tasks
- Able to lift up to fifty pounds occasionally
- Work environment includes indoor and outdoor settings with varying noise levels
- Must be able to go to the public pool weekly
