ABOUT THE JOB:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team in developing cutting-edge modular space and storage solutions. The Director of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering, including product design, development, testing, and implementation. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, technical expertise, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Leadership:
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Develop and execute engineering strategies that align with company goals and objectives
Product Development:
  • Lead the design and development of new modular space and storage solutions, ensuring alignment with customer needs, market trends, and company objectives.
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to production, ensuring timely and successful product launches.
Technical Expertise:
  • Utilize technical expertise to provide guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring the use of best practices, standards, and technologies.

Project Management:
  • Oversee all engineering projects from conception to completion, including resource allocation, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, operations, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions into the overall business strategy.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between engineering and other departments.
Quality Assurance:
  • Implement rigorous testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, durability, and safety of our products.
  • Ensure products meet all regulatory and quality standards.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team, identifying areas for optimization, efficiency gains, and cost savings.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve engineering processes and product quality.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and codes of practice in all engineering activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensure the team adheres to them.
Talent Development:
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and professional development.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities for team members.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product engineering, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in the design and development of large-scale industrial product; modular or storage solutions, preferred
  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong technical expertise in areas such as structural engineering, mechanical engineering, design engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in the industry.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
