Job Overview

The Product Lifecycle Management Engineer is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of technical operations and the efficient management of global resources for all established product lines that have been in the market for over three years across all Project Overlord Systems Inc. brands and sales channels. This position leverages extensive technical expertise in LED Lighting products and experience in product lifecycle management to facilitate updates, certifications, phase-outs, bespoke product solutions, and component oversight to ensure profitability and business expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical support liaison for both internal and external stakeholders influencing business decisions. Identify opportunities to enhance profit margins across current product lines.
  • Drive organizational goals by proficiently managing all lifecycle stages of existing product lines. Proactively identify potential issues and implement corrective measures within established timelines.
  • Evaluate and report on the return on investment for current Technical / Functional Lighting product lines and brands.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant Codes and Standards, including UL, ETL, NEC, Energy Star, Title 24, Dark Sky, and Turtle Friendly Lighting. Make informed decisions that protect certifications and promote sales.
  • Provide performance metrics for existing products and identify areas for ongoing enhancement.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, sales teams, and leadership. Communicate product opportunities and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Collaborate closely with global teams, including domestic and international engineering resources, marketing, operations, purchasing, quality control, sales, submittals, and technical support to achieve business objectives. Anticipate challenges and implement corrective actions.
  • Offer strategic recommendations for the discontinuation or enhancement of existing products to maximize positive business impact. Ensure timely updates across all marketing materials, including specification sheets, websites, and catalogs.
  • Work in tandem with Supply Chain Management and Sales teams to execute strategies for transitioning stock of discontinued products.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates and maintenance of Bills of Material across all facilities.
  • Analyze and propose value-added custom opportunities for existing product lines and brands.
  • Oversee the essential component replacement program for all existing Technical / Functional Lighting brands.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a complex technical electronics or consumer product manufacturing environment managing product lifecycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with strong project and time management skills.
  • High level of technical acumen and the ability to maintain comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Proficient in solving intricate problems and overcoming challenges to maximize return on investment and exceed customer expectations.
  • Proven capability to drive and manage change within a complex manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to influence and guide non-direct reports effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on composing materials, setting priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods and regulatory codes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operational and sales structures in a complex, sales-driven environment.
