Summary of Duties:

The Institute for Research and Education to Advance Community Health (IREACH) is a Washington State University institute conducting transdisciplinary research to promote health and healthcare equity among Indigenous and other underserved and rural populations. IREACH is one of the largest units dedicated to American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander health in the United States with new areas of inquiry and active research to include Hispanic/Latinx and rural health. IREACH also houses an emerging practice-based research network of 200 primary care facilities around the state that serve rural, American Indian, and other underserved populations.

We seek a dynamic and engaged Research Study Coordinator, passionate about community health and health equity. This position will participate in a collaborative, extramurally funded program of research focused on health research within the IREACH portfolio. Current project assignments present an opportunity for research to build resilience to low family socioeconomic status for both the prevention and management of childhood obesity as well as an opportunity to assist with cancer screening in underserved communities for improving the mental health of system-impacted youth and young adults.

This position's primary responsibilities will be coordinating research projects in the Institute for Research and Education to Advance Community Health. Essential duties include helping prepare human subject applications and management, assisting with the development of study protocols, coordinating data management and collection, preparing manuscripts for publication, budget maintenance, and day-to-day field sight oversight.

This position could be appointed at either the Research Study Coordinator 1 or Research Study Coordinator 2 level. Applicants will be screened for qualifications and interviewed for the best fit.

Additional Requirements (both titles):

One (1) year of experience working with children. Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Access. Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as scheduled, with advanced notice, to meet study needs. Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation.

Preferred Qualifications (both titles):

Excellent proofreading skills, and a strong attention to detail.

Monthly Salary:

Research Study Coordinator 1: $3,477 to $4,410, Steps C - M, Range 38 (salary range effective July 1, 2024)

Research Study Coordinator 2: $3,728 to $4,987, Steps A - M, Range 43 (salary range effective July 1, 2024)

Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC Step M is typically a longevity step.

Employees who are assigned a permanent duty station in King County shall receive a five percent (5%) premium pay in accordance with WAC
