WHO WE ARE SEEKING
We are seeking a Senior Merchandise Planner to develop comprehensive merchandise plans in collaboration with consumer cross-functional teams, focusing on profitability, productivity, and consumer-centric offerings. Your role will involve supporting Nike's objectives and consumer strategies while managing in-season optimization through a dynamic rolling forecast process and collaborative weekly planning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct product forecasting and in-season optimization by analyzing data and providing actionable insights
- Create seasonal plans and monthly forecasts covering sales, margin, and inventory at the franchise level, utilizing analytics to meet financial goals and guide manufacturing decisions
- Collaborate with key partners worldwide to optimize business performance across the product lifecycle
- Analyze business performance weekly against forecasts, identify forecast variance, and develop action plans for risks and opportunities
- Support cross-functional seasonal planning initiatives and activities, ensuring alignment with key partners
In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Brand Planning within the Global Merchandise Planning team. You will closely partner with various functions including Planning, Merchandising, Finance, and Brand teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Utilize statistical forecasting and data science to drive informed decisions during pre-season and in-season
- Demonstrate expertise in assortment planning and financial, product, and inventory planning
- Possess strong influencing and communication skills founded on data insights
- Think critically, assess market trends, and quantify gaps in financial plans from a detailed perspective
- Apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills to develop precise plans that optimize outcomes
- Maintain awareness of consumer and market trends
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience
