Within AWS, the Infrastructure Security Hardware Lifecycle Security (InfraSec-HLS) organization is comprised of multiple teams responsible for hardware validation, cryptographic identification and supply chain security operations across the global AWS infrastructure.

The AWS InfraSec-HLS team is seeking a Software Development Manager (SDM) to lead our Device Identity and Port Security team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development, maintenance, and growth of ORIGAMI, a system that attests hardware and software and vends unique identities to grant network access. Your direct reports will consist of Software Development Engineers focused on building new service and automation capabilities. Through servant leadership of your team, partnerships with other InfraSec leaders, and constant customer obsession, you will work to raise the bar and elevate InfraSec-HLSs software capabilities by developing innovative solutions to complicated problems.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of engineering team management experience

7+ years of engineering experience

Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

Experience partnering with product and program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment

Experience in engineering team management

A strong understanding of networking technologies and infrastructure

Experience with Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) to deliver software outcomes

Experience with the AWS suite of tools and services

A demonstrated history of delivery for large, cross-functional projects

Relevant industry certifications (ISC2, ISACA, SANS/GIAC, CompTIA, Microsoft, Linux, AWS, etc.)

Excellent communication and data presentation skills that allow you to clearly, compellingly, and effectively influence audiences internally and externally, across organizational boundaries
