Brunel is currently offering an exciting job opportunity for a Project Controls Manager to support a large global Mining Company client.
As a Project Controls Manager, you will work on a rotational basis in New Orleans, Louisiana. Your schedule will involve four weeks on-site (Monday through Friday), followed by one week working from home before returning to New Orleans. This contract role offers fully furnished accommodations, paid utilities, a monthly stipend, transportation, and flights provided.
This role involves managing and overseeing project controls for large multidisciplinary capital engineering and construction projects from FEED to operations, including project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, progress monitoring, risk management, and reporting. As the Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for guiding project managers and corporate management, implementing operating policies to mitigate risks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and procedures. This position requires hands-on involvement in day-to-day cost engineering duties within the owner's team.
- Essential Functions:
· Guide and resolve project difficulties and complex control issues, utilizing strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy and identify potential mitigations.
· Interact with Project Management and corporate teams, participate in project meetings, prepare reports and presentations, and communicate design changes, scope changes, and schedule impacts.
· Coordinate with cross-functional project teams, oversee project baseline processes, establish risk management protocols, and develop progress measurement processes.
· Manage project schedules, ensure accurate reporting, mentor project controls team members, and lead staffing activities.
Job Scope:
· Involves working on highly complex issues, implementing solutions, and leading others with creativity and autonomy in decision-making.
· Leads department interactions, facilitates cross-department coordination, and manages budgetary responsibilities and large multidisciplinary project controls teams.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related fields with 12 years of Project Management experience, including 8 years in a project controls leadership role; OR
· High School diploma or GED with 16 years of experience in engineering, construction, project controls, or business-related fields, including 8 years in a project controls leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Leadership abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong communication and analytical skills, multitasking capabilities, and experience with ERP systems and estimating software.
· Understanding of accounting functions, Primavera, cost control, mining construction projects, and construction safety precautions.
