Summary:

We are in search of a seasoned Senior Design Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The chosen individual will lead the design and development of cutting-edge products for manufacturing, from concept to production.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in engineering design, project management, and team leadership in a manufacturing setting.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of new manufacturing products, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Utilize engineering principles and advanced CAD software for optimal design creation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee product feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making throughout product development.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation and improvement.
  • Keep updated on industry trends and integrate advancements into product development processes.
  • Coordinate prototype builds, testing, and validation activities, and refine designs for efficiency.
  • Drive the resolution of technical challenges during product development and manufacturing.
  • Support the transition of product designs to manufacturing and ensure efficient production ramp-up.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with company standards and regulations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools.
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Leadership experience with a focus on mentoring.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and passion for innovation.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; master's degree preferred.
5 years of experience in product design and development.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or walk for extended periods.
  • Office work environment with some time in a production shop environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
