Position Summary:
The CNC Wood Router Technician is responsible for the programming and operation of CNC wood routers to produce items according to customer specifications, drawings, or other directives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Program the Holzher CNC router (experience with CAD/CAM is advantageous).
- Load and unload materials from the router.
- Initiate programs and operate the CNC machine to ensure optimal quality output.
- Interpret plans, sketches, and shop drawings accurately.
- Collaborate with designers and management to meet customer expectations.
- Maintain high production levels while ensuring quality standards.
- Respond effectively to urgent orders.
- Excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
- Identify the type and dimensions of wood stock required.
- Implement nesting strategies to minimize material waste.
- Keep both the equipment and workspace clean and organized.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Engineering and Technology — Ability to apply principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment in the design and production of various goods.
- Proficient in understanding and interpreting router files.
- Oversee cutting strategies to ensure precision and longevity of cutting tools.
- Optimize the use of new and leftover materials.
- Load and unload sheet goods onto the router bed efficiently.
- Clean, trim, deburr, and collate finished products.
- Adhere to the maintenance schedule for machinery.
- Communicate issues and progress to technical management effectively.
- Assist other departments as time permits.
- Ensure a safe working environment.
- Proficient with tools and construction materials.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Excellent mathematical skills.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 1-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts.
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive use of hands and feet.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
- Capability to push and pull weights of up to 75 lbs. regularly.
