**Sr. Inventory Planner**

**Summary:**

Perform analytical and purchase order entry activities related to inventory management. Work with Procurement, Warehouse, Production and Production Planning, Customers and Suppliers to define, develop, and implement programs. Track purchase orders and provide status updates to internal and external customers. Programs will include process and/or business changes to monitor and adjust inventory levels. Participate in program/inventory audits to assure objectives and goals are achieved. Assists in inventory data management and quality with other functional owners to ensure integrity across the operation of financial systems and is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements for inventory. Ensure continual improvements in accordance with established Company policies, procedures and objectives.

**Job Duties:**

Will be a point of escalation for planners and customers with day-to-day issues and will work to troubleshoot and find solutions

Continually identify, evaluate, recommend, and implement inventory related processes to reduce costs, waste, and lead times while exceeding customers' expectations. Lead analytical studies targeting inventory process improvement.

Analyze fact-based performance metrics and data, understand, and apply the numbers while explaining and addressing discrepancies.

Determine necessary purchasing items required for the completion of customer orders. Conduct negotiations with suppliers as needed and place purchase orders to obtain the best possible value while meeting appropriate quality and delivery requirements.

Work closely with production to review receipts of blank inventory and supplies to reconcile with original PO quantities.

Supports procurement team by identifying supplies (hangtags, stickersetc.) needing to be purchased before the start of a program

Provide analysis to reduce inventory balances and recommend blank inventory levels to ensure lowest inventory cost and still meet customer delivery requirements.

Assist as needed to analyze and process customer orders and determine necessary process plans, material requirements, and pricing to achieve maximum customer service and profitability.

Support continuous improvement efforts, identify corrective action and implement appropriate improvements.

Serves as subject matter expert to support designs, and requirements for inventory and style set up data to meet business needs.

Assists in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on inventory records to ensure integrity of data sets.

Conducts data cleaning and mapping to rid the system of old, unused stock records and inventory data, or duplicate data for better management and quicker access.

Supports data maintenance on purchase orders, sales orders and shipments to improve quality and other efficiencies in business processes

Perform other assignments or duties appropriate to the overall responsibility of the position.

**Skills/Qualifications:**

Customer support experience in a manufacturing, distribution or logistics type environment required

Aptitude for numbers with expert skills working with Microsoft Word, Excel and using an ERP system

Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to be self-motivated and able to work within a fast-paced team environment

**Education/Certification Requirements:**

Bachelors degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in operations management or business preferred; and a minimum of 3 - 5 years related inventory management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
