About the Role:

Our client is a leading IPP in the Renewable Energy sector and is looking to bring on a Power Systems Engineer to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone early into their career or looking to get their foot in the door with an inspiring company.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Aid project analysis by constructing production cost and powerflow models for key regions in renewable and storage development, such as WECC, NYISO, PJM, MISO, and ERCOT.
  • Conduct basis, curtailment, and congestion assessments utilizing production cost models like PROMOD for ongoing renewable projects.
  • Collect data and insights from Interconnection queues and utility IRPs
  • Review transmission plans and ensure the accuracy of powerflow models for internal analyses.
  • Enhance data management processes, automate procedures, and optimize data storage organization.
  • Assist in due diligence for project acquisitions as required.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Preferably 1-2 years of experience in generator production cost modeling, energy market data analysis, and/or powerflow analysis. However, this opportunity is also open to those with 0 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Office Suite.
  • Competency in other modeling, statistical analysis, and optimization software is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Experience collaborating with Transmission Service Providers (including ISOs/RTOs), NERC, and FERC is advantageous.
