Senior Electrical Power Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Power Engineer to join our team at HUNT, GUILLOT & ASSOCIATES. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex electrical power engineering projects with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, review, and approve critical electrical power engineering deliverables, including One Line Diagrams, Electrical Load Lists, Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets.
  • Design of MCC, Switchgear, and Power Distribution Systems.
  • Cable Sizing and Routing Earthing and Lightning Protection System.
  • Designs Electrical Layout Plans (Substation Layout, Cable Tray Layout, etc.).
  • Hazardous Area Classifications and Selection of Ex-Rated Equipment.
  • Power Systems Studies (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, Harmonic Analysis).
  • Relay Coordination Studies and Settings.
  • Participate in critical studies and reviews like HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessments.
  • Oversee the preparation, evaluation, and management of electrical requisition documentation, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews.
  • Direct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for complex electrical systems.
  • Conduct and supervise comprehensive field surveys to document and assess existing conditions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Extensive experience in electrical power engineering, with a strong focus on LV and MV systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting wiring, fiber optics, and power design on-site.
  • Proficiency in SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical engineering simulation software.
  • PE Registration, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months, preferred.
  • Candidates should be located within daily commuting distance of Houston, TX.
