Key Responsibilities:
  • Engineer and implement automation strategies for power management initiatives, emphasizing the SEL PowerMAX framework.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to establish project goals, requirements, and schedules.
  • Conduct assessments and analyze potential automation technologies for power management applications.
  • Create comprehensive engineering designs, schematics, and layouts for power management systems tailored to industrial and commercial environments.
  • Refine and adapt existing power system algorithms as necessary, and develop new control algorithms utilizing IEC programming languages such as structured text and function block diagrams.
  • Configure and program automation equipment, including PLCs, RTACs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
  • Oversee the testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automation solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable industry standards and regulations concerning power system automation.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in the design, development, and execution of automation solutions within power management and microgrid control projects.
  • In-depth understanding of power system components, microgrid frameworks, and automation technologies.
  • Practical experience with automation devices, including PLCs, RTACs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
  • Proficiency in industrial control system programming, particularly with IEC programming languages.
  • Experience in integrating control systems using standard data communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP, and IEC-61850.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to address complex challenges in power system and microgrid automation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with diverse teams and clients.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including task prioritization, timeline management, and project delivery.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, including IEEE, IEC, and NERC, related to power system automation and microgrid integration.
