- Threat Detection and Response: Develop and maintain advanced threat detection mechanisms using New Relic and other security tools, and lead incident response efforts to mitigate and resolve security incidents.
- Security Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to identify and address potential security weaknesses.
- Automation and Scripting: Automate security processes and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Policy and Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) by implementing and enforcing security policies and controls.
- Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, IT Operations, and Software Development teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle and cloud infrastructure management processes.
- Documentation and Training: Develop comprehensive security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports, and provide training to team members on security best practices and New Relic usage.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, and continuously improve security measures to protect the organization's cloud assets.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a strong focus on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Preferably on AWS.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in cloud security frameworks and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of New Relic or similar tools, including configuration, customization, and security monitoring.
- Strong understanding of network security, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and secure application development.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Shell, Terraform, Ansible).
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead security initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications: Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, AWS Certified Security - Specialty).
- Additional Tools: Familiarity with other security monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, Grafana).
- Agile Experience: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and learning, with a focus on staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
