Job Description

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Quality Control Technician to work at our Technical Services Laboratory in Portage, IN.

Pay: $20-22/hr

Shift/Schedule: Day Shift

Responsibilities
The Quality Control Technician will:
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols
  • Assist in performing routine testing of aggregate samples (quartering samples, running gradations, washes, moistures, unit weights, specific gravity and picking deleterious; additional testing as required)
  • Enter data into the aggregate quality reporting system
  • Keep accurate records and data
  • Calibrate lab equipment
  • Perform routine housekeeping of lab
  • Plot data on control charts
  • Attend training and work toward identified certifications
  • Perform special projects, studies and other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills

The ideal candidate will have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Aggregate, asphalt or concrete certification, a plus
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic knowledge of statistics
  • Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding and stockpiles
  • Ability to tolerate noise, temperature and environmental variations and working at elevated heights
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record
