Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university OR a High School Diploma or GED coupled with 6 years of experience in Risk Management or a related field in the Financial Services Industry
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, or similar field
  • Prior exposure to Third-Party Risk Management
  • Proficiency in providing subject matter expertise, advisory services, and effectively challenging team members within a risk and control atmosphere
  • Expertise in managing risk for non-vendor and vendor third party risk programs
  • Thorough understanding of various risk types, risk management principles, controls, and compliance concepts
  • Experience in project support/project management with the ability to give guidance, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with program requirements
  • Familiarity with risk management software, MS Office Suite, and other relevant technology tools
  • Desirable: Previous experience in managing or leading a team
  • Desirable: 6 years of experience in the Financial Services industry and/or understanding of Line of Business products, services, and operations
  • Preferred: Background in developing and/or managing supplier contracts

The Role

The company is seeking a Manager for the BRCO Third-Party Risk department. In this role, you will be a key player in guiding the business to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the safety of our customers and team members. You will play a vital part in various stages of the Risk Management Lifecycle, emphasizing Planning, Identifying, Assessing, Mitigating, Monitoring, and Reporting.

  • Provide leadership and coaching to the team to identify and manage risks effectively
  • Translate and educate team members on Second Line of Defense (2LOD) risk management frameworks and policies
  • Review and validate activities to guarantee proper control design and operation
  • Challenge colleagues to uphold safeguard measures in decision-making processes
  • Promote collaboration between different lines of defense to ensure effective risk management
  • Document, aggregate, and report risks based on the risk management lifecycle

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on Third-Party risk processes to 1LOD
  • Analyze processes including due diligence, third-party selection, and ongoing monitoring
  • Identify, measure, control, monitor, and report Third-Party risks aligning with corporate risk policies
  • Facilitate Third-Party due diligence activities and risk assessments to ensure policy adherence

Collaboration

  • Provide leadership and coaching to team members for effective risk management
  • Enhance collaboration between different units to ensure engagement across the risk management lifecycle
  • Instill a strong risk culture focused on compliance awareness and ethical business practices
  • Develop expertise within the line of business to provide valuable risk guidance
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistent implementation of risk management frameworks

HR and Financial Management

  • Recruit, motivate, and retain top talent within the team
  • Support the growth and development of team members through ongoing coaching and performance management
  • Manage team expenses and budget efficiently
