Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:
Directs, plans and supervises the functions/activities of the Information Technology Department
Oversees all Information Technology operations and evaluates them according to established goals
Provides ideas and suggestions for new products, services, technology and processes to ensure Rolling Hills Casino Resorts competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.
Prepares, implements, and evaluates the yearly strategic plan for the departmentPrepares and recommends operating and capital budget and controls expenditures within the budget
Works with other department heads to develop IT support needs and budget for their departments
Directs projects to ensure completion within established time frames, project design and budget
Provides technical advice, guidance and direction to departments on information technology matters
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal/external customers.
Stays up to date on security risks and ensures corporate security
Reports progress and challenges to senior management; Ensures that all reported issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
Optimizes profitability and customer satisfaction through technology
Consults with management to determine information requirements of management and user needs to determine boundaries and priorities of new projects, and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
Confers with department heads involved with proposed projects to ensure cooperation and further define nature of project.Consults with Systems Specialists to define equipment needs.
Prepares progress reports to inform management of project status and deviation from goals.
Contracts with management specialists, technical personnel, or vendors to solve problems. Revises computer operating schedule to introduce new program testing and operating runs.
Analyzes department workflow to recommend reorganization or departmental realignment within company. Assists staff to facilitate solutions to computer equipment, system and software problems.
Manages all telecommunications needs and works with staff to ensure appropriate equipment and services are in place, including cellular service, paging, long distance, high speed data lines.
Coordinates all data and voice cabling needs.Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Proven experience running an IT Department in a casino or similar setting
Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, etc.
Experience in controlling IT budgets
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding customer service and communication skills
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages employees in the Information Technology Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, 6-8 years experience in leadership or management in an IT setting and ten years experience in the technology field or equivalent combination of education and experience Required willingness and ability to adapt to rapid changes in order to support and use future technology.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsGaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission. CNA (Certified Network Administrator), CRM (Certified Records Manager) designations preferred. Valid California Drivers License. Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.
