Position Overview

This role involves working 30 hours a week, Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 PM to 3 AM. Compensation is set at $15.50/hr, which includes a complimentary YMCA membership.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Buildings & Grounds Director, the incumbent will be responsible for upholding cleanliness and sanitary standards throughout the facility, both indoors and outdoors. The role emphasizes relationship-building, ensuring that every interaction is respectful and personable.

  • Maintain cleanliness in bathrooms, offices, locker rooms, hallways, and other designated areas through vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
  • Conduct minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Support various departments with the setup for meetings and special events.
  • Be available for work during shutdown periods as necessary.
  • Perform floor stripping, polishing, and carpet cleaning as part of restorative cleaning efforts.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying and cleaning trash receptacles.
  • Rearrange and dust furniture and fixtures as needed.
  • Clear snow and apply salt to sidewalks during inclement weather.
  • Report any damages or repair needs to the supervisor.
  • Utilize cleaning supplies efficiently and appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all cleaning closets during scheduled shifts.
  • Engage with staff, members, and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist with special projects at the branch or other YMCA facilities.
  • Respond to emergencies according to training and situational requirements.
  • Attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Equivalent work experience will be taken into account.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with others are required.
  • Experience or ability to understand general cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of various flooring types is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in typical environments with some exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
  • Mobility within the facility, including movement between floors and outside.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • May handle human body fluids and chemicals as part of daily tasks.
Compensation:

$15.50 per hour
