This position is responsible for directing and supervising department personnel and all associated activities. Implement Lean manufacturing systems and strategy to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, provide exceptional customer service, develop a technically qualified work force, reduce operating costs and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly expectations.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Schedule production floor work according to job priorities and reevaluate the work load numerous times throughout the shiftOperate production machines and test equipment. Check operator paperwork for correctnessMonitor hourly machine performance and quality output.Inspect finished product for defects, test to make sure material meets design specifications.Enforce safety rules, PPE adherence and environmental regulationsPerform lab testing on incoming materials to ensure specifications are met. Ensure that products are made to print and are held to the highest quality standardsEnsure that all operators are following the proper processes and procedures that are required in the performance of their daily dutiesLead daily production meeting and provide status updates shift performance and task completion.Review, update and manage the production floor employee's Time & Attendance records in the Time Management SystemWork with the Planning team to investigate inventory discrepancies and help identify the root cause for the discrepancy, and then implement procedural changes to eliminate these root cause issuesInitiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve shop floor metricsResponsible for all aspects of performance management including interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and recognitionProvide effective, constructive and appropriate feedback and leadership to direct reports to foster positive, team atmosphereEnsure personal and professional development of direct reportsConfer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or concernsInitiate and assist with the creation, development, and implementation of processes and proceduresConduct daily safety checks, weekly safety meetings and participate in safety committee auditsUnderstand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Minimum Education and Experience Required:

A minimum of (2) years of supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment or combination of relevant education and experience.Previous experience with ERP systems

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach above shoulder level, reach below knee level, bend/twist/stoop, squat/kneel, climb, and regularly lift/carry, up to 60 lbs.; and occasionally up to 75 lbs. as needed. Also may include pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. Regularly requires coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.Steel-toed shoes are required for working in this positionRegular shop assembly/distribution center environment
