Assembly Operator

- Prepare work to be completed by reading assembly instructions and drawings; gathers all materials needed to complete job and verifies that the correct components were pulled and are available at their workstations.
- Assemble components by examining for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies; sets correct dimensions
- Verify specifications by measuring completed components using scale, dynascope, calipers, and micrometers.
- Use inspection microscope to verify workmanship of product.
- Measure parts at beginning, middle and end of run (or as necessary) and records data on router.
- Follow all product handling procedures; handles product with care.
- Work as part of a team responsible for assembling an entire product or component of a product.
- Resolve assembly problems by notifying group leader or supervisor who then obtains additional resources when needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules and regulations.
- Document actions by completing production forms and routers/paperwork.
- Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related goals and results as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent (required).
- 3 – 6 months of assembly or subassembly experience (Required)
- Good hand eye dexterity.
- Good communications skills both written and orally.
- Must be able to use various measuring devices to ensure proper tolerances on finished product.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to use inspection microscope to verify workmanship of product.
- Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with simple instructions.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions that require few changes.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures with several potential variables.
- Ability to communicate questions/standards with department supervisor and co-workers.
