Your Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer at our Water practice. As a mid-level civil engineer, you'll handle smaller projects independently and contribute to larger projects in collaboration with senior technical experts. To thrive in this role, you should possess at least 4 years of practical experience in engineering design, permitting, and construction management within water infrastructure projects. A Registered Professional Engineer (PE) designation, preferably in North Carolina or the ability to obtain one within a year, is a plus.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Project planning and design activities.
  • Assisting with budgeting and cost tracking.
  • Preparing project drawings and specifications.
  • Engaging effectively with clients and relevant agencies on project matters.
  • Coordinating with project team members.
  • Creating project reports and documents.
  • Overseeing construction activities and field tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Prior work experience of a minimum of 3 years, preferably in North Carolina.
  • Strong problem-solving skills using professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
  • Reviewing work for accuracy, managing time effectively, and staying within project budgets and schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively within project teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM 360, Bluebeam programs.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

Licensed Professional Engineer.

Minimum of 4 years of experience.

You'll mainly work in an office environment but might be exposed to elements during fieldwork.
