Accounting Manager (Payroll/General) - InterContinental San Francisco

This is a highly-visible internal customer-focused role

where interpersonal skills are of importance.

This Accounting Management position with a focus in Payroll manages and control payroll and accounting systems, processes, policies and procedures while maintaining a system of internal controls which provide the most effective control.

Every day is different, but you'll mostly be
Managing day-to-day activities of Payroll operations for nearly 400 employees.

Posting various gratuities, tip allocations, charged receipts and charged tips for payroll transmission.
Preparing reconciliation of banquet gratuities with DRS submit with payroll transmission.
Preparing and processing California Meals for payroll transmission.
Processing vacationpay for Union employees correctly as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Auditing and posting entries into payroll system, including gratuities, ensuring that correct payments are made.
Maintaining complete knowledge of and compliance with all Union contracts and payroll-related Federal/State laws.
Managing full payroll cycle for nearly 400 employees

Manage weekly Labor Meeting to effectively address overtime and meal break penalties in partnership with department heads and other leaders.

Providing accurate processing of all assigned Union benefit billings.

Maintaining orderly filing systems for all payroll supportive documentation and payroll reports while maintaining confidentiality of payroll information regarding past and present employees.

Performing other payroll-related duties as needed, such as returning unclaimed paychecks, or accounting documentation or reports on payroll-related statistics, ensuring checks are distributed in a secure and timely manner, etc.

Promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include department heads throughout the hotel, for the purpose of providing or obtaining information regarding payroll.
Perform other managerial duties as assigned.
What we need from you
Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent is

preferred .

Minimum of two (2) years experience in a payroll (accounting) position or similar; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Above average communication skills - both verbal and written - in English is required. Candidates who speak a secondary language are highly desired.
This job requires ability to perform the following
Frequently carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 lbs.
Regularly, standing up and moving about the hotel.
Frequently communicating with other people
Regularly, handling objects, supplies, boxes of merchandise, etc.
Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching.

Other:
Reading abilities are utilized often when reading time records, payroll-related documents, and work materials both on-screen and on paper.
Mathematical skills are used frequently to perform calculations, reconcile account balances, etc.
Strong people management and interpersonal skills are required.
May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
What you can expect from us
The salaried pay range for this role is

$80,000 to $90,000 . This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at

InterContinental San Francisco .

This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.

We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.

An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
