Job Summary:

Raytheon's Airborne Multi-Mission Electronics Department part of Integrated Electrical Solution mission area, is seeking an experienced firmware design engineer to work onsite in Goleta, CA to design and develop embedded firmware technologies for the airborne military applications.

The selected candidate will work on new product development based on descriptions and specifications provided by our customers.
This position is an onsite role in Goleta, CA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:


Working in integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications.

Activities include detailed FPGA design, embedded systems, and VHDL/Verilog development.

Specific tasks include writing VHDL/Verilog, utilization of Vivado/Quartus tools, FPGA programming, design documentation, design verification and testing, and integration of hardware and software at the level of electronic components and circuit boards.


Basic Qualifications:


Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.

A minimum of two (2) years of Engineering experience with any combination of the following:Embedded electronics VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, Schematic capture, signal processing, RF, and FPGA designThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S.

government issued security clearance is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures.
Ability to understand, design, debug, and test electronics hardware.
Hands-on design experience with engineering tools Propensity for learning through self-study and being comfortable in a multi-tasking environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level.
Experience in a production environment.
Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skillsExcellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsMust be a self-starter who is capable of working independently

Information:
Goleta, CA: salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
