Alaska Industrial Hardware, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Purchasing Buyer. Salary DOE. Buyer will work with minimum direction/supervision to accomplish all duties delegated by the Chief Operating Officer. Buyer has the responsibility to know generally accepted business purchasing methods and company policies and procedures. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to conduct all business in accordance first with the policies and procedures of this organization, but if a subject is not covered by those policies and procedures then to act in accordance with the best business purchasing standards as directed by the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Fully understand our Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) ordering system and controls
  • Review ERP Ordering Control exceptions and act upon them accordingly
  • Prepare Purchase Orders when inventory is needed and check them for accuracy and completeness before issuing
  • Review Purchase Order acknowledgements and resolve any discrepancies between Acknowledgements and Purchase Orders
  • Follow-up on outstanding orders and ensure our ERP system reflects accurate delivery dates
  • Expedite order fulfillment when necessary
  • Maintain accurate item and ordering control data within our ERP system
  • Ability to look at all aspects of our supply chain process with an eye toward cutting costs while maintaining or improving customer serviceRequired (Minimum) QualificationsHigh school Graduation or GED RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast paced environmentComprehensive understanding of Microsoft Excel and OutlookImpeccable attention to detailExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work well with a team and to communicate complex issues clearly.

Hiring Bonus:

Must have reliable transportation to/from work. Must have a clean driving record. Must be willing to occasionally travel to our remote locations throughout the state.
