We are currently looking for an
_Assistant Project Accountant _for our Engineering and Operations accounting teams, which are headquartered in our Grand Rapids, MI office.

This role is our entry level accounting position responsible for recording, monitoring, and reconciling operational transactions. These transactions may include cash receipts, receivables, unit entries, and vendor or subconsultant payables.

This role is intended to develop the right individual into a full time Project Accountant as they grow and learn what it takes for that next step.

As an Assistant Project Accountant, you will be supporting the financial operations of the company, while getting exposure to the principles of project accounting.

The immediate roles and responsibilities include:

  • Process client payments and assist in reconciliation of outstanding receivables.
  • Manage intake and processing of vendor invoices and reconcile vendor statements.
  • Review daily bank activity and post transactions to general ledger software.
  • Post internal expense logs and complete unit entry for monthly project billing.
  • Assist with management of Certificates of Insurance from subconsultants and suppliers.
  • Set up vendors and subcontractors in system; ensure maintenance of current records.
  • Keep team informed of any problems or inadequacies noted in daytoday business operations.
  • Complete adhoc reporting and reconciliation projects.
  • Assist with monthend client billing process and client collections.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • 1+ years of experience in professional office environment, accounting preferred

Computer Skills:

  • Experience with general ledger software strongly desired.
