Forklift Operator (Logistics)

SAFETY:

1)Understand and follow all safety procedures

a)Current on all safety trainings

2)Understand Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas

3)Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures

4)Complete General Plan Safety Training within the first 8 weeks

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)Unloading materials from inbound trucks and stacking them in assigned areas

2)Loading material on outbound trucks according to accepted safe loading practices

3)Locating and moving stock for storage or shipment

4)Identifying damages and quality deficiencies

5)Able to work independently and as part of a team

6)Monitors instrument gauges to ensure equipment is operating within standards

7)Performs preventive maintenance and checks

8)Performs housekeeping duties throughout the shift

9)Perform other duties as assigned or needed

SKILLS:

1)Requires high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, of an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience

2)Must be highly motivated and able to work independently

3)Must have at least 6 months of forklift experience preferably, moving heavy or wide products

4)Must be able to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues

5)Prior warehouse experience is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1)Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs

2)Must be able to work long periods while continuously walking, standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.

3)Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy

4)Non climate controlled warehouse

5)Requires some work outside

6)Must be able to work required shift and work overtime with short notice
