Job Overview

Position: Forklift Operator (Logistics)

SAFETY PROTOCOLS:

1) Adhere to all established safety guidelines.

a) Maintain current certifications in safety training.

b) Utilize all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (steel-toed footwear, safety goggles, hearing protection).

2) Comprehend Lock Out Tag Out procedures relevant to designated work areas.

3) Execute tasks in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.

4) Complete General Plan Safety Training within the initial 8 weeks of employment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Unload materials from incoming transport vehicles and organize them in designated storage areas.

2) Load materials onto outgoing transport vehicles following safe loading protocols.

3) Locate and transport stock for storage or dispatch.

4) Identify and report any damages or quality issues.

5) Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.

6) Monitor equipment gauges to ensure optimal operational standards.

7) Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.

8) Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the work shift.

9) Perform additional tasks as assigned or required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

1) High school diploma or GED, along with completion of a relevant apprenticeship or equivalent experience in production maintenance.

2) Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

3) Minimum of 6 months experience operating forklifts, preferably with heavy or oversized materials.

4) Capability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.

5) Previous experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1) Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs.

2) Capacity to remain on feet for extended periods, engaging in walking, standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.

3) Willingness to work in a dusty and noisy environment.

4) Work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse setting.

5) Some outdoor work may be required.

6) Flexibility to work required shifts and overtime with little notice.
