What you will do:

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Senior Employment & Litigation Counsel is a strategic collaborator, focused on problem-solving and risk mitigation. Core responsibilities will include providing counsel across all areas of employment and HR, as well as managing litigation and dispute resolution.

Your Responsibilities:

Provide expert legal advice and guidance on labor and employment-related laws and regulations. Minimize legal exposure by proactively reviewing and updating existing practices, agreements, and policies related to employment matters, while aligning with business objectives. Draft and review employment-related agreements to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Handle all pre-litigation claims, including settlement negotiations and mediations, and manage complex litigation matters, including management of outside counsel as needed. Lead the management of budgets and metrics for the practice area, including litigation management. Efficiently resolve disputes in a cost-effective and timely manner. Provide strategic guidance to stakeholders, including senior management, on legal and business matters. Develop and drive communications, training, and processes related to labor and employment laws, collaborating with the P&C team to promote a comprehensive and effective training program. Evaluate and communicate legal risks associated with complaints, charges, and other legal matters. Monitor legislation, regulations, government enforcement activities, and litigation trends related to employment laws, providing proactive, strategic advice to relevant business partners. Assist in handling a full range of legal matters as requested by the General Counsel.

Skills and experience you possess:

A minimum of 8 years of legal experience in a top law firm and in-house, specializing in labor, employment, litigation management, and dispute resolution. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, facilitation, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and independently manage heavy workloads under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional attention to detail and a self-motivated team player with the ability to drive projects, identify and resolve legal and business issues, and earn the confidence and cooperation of business colleagues. Outstanding critical thinking and clear, concise communication skills, both spoken and written. Strong collaboration skills with the ability to interface effectively with internal clients, all internal departments, and all levels of management.

Base salary may vary depending on, but not limited to: skills, experience, and location. Base Salary is $220,000 to $240,000K/annually
