The Village Coordinator is responsible for managing the physical and cultural upkeep of the village itself.

This will include but not be limited to:

scheduling and running culture-building activities with Villagers; tracking Villagers' onsite work duties; coordinating volunteer support; practicing trauma-informed de-escalation; staying abreast of infrastructure needs throughout the village with some maintenance/ custodial work involved; and working with leadership to navigate interpersonal conflict in a healthy and trauma informed manner resting on the values of honesty, having and respecting healthy boundaries, and accountability to one another.


The heart of the work will be direct, general support to the Villagers as each works towards their goals. The Village Coordinator will be a point of contact between Villagers, organizations, and neighbors.

The Village Coordinator will get to work with a fast-growing, mission-driven team and have the opportunity to meet and learn from various partner organizations engaged in human services and housing solutions throughout Portland while establishing deep relationships with people in transition.
