The Role
A Customer Service Specialist has a dual role for building and managing customer relationships through heavy customer call volume, emails, and website orders as well as performing an inside sales function to help increase sales for the independent sales division. The Customer Service Specialist should have a love for people and ability to build strong relationships so to provide the best customer service experience while maintaining professionalism. The qualified candidate must also be able to travel to overnight trade shows throughout the year and this position provides a strong foundation position for someone seeking a sales career.
Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming customer calls, servicing existing accounts and processing orders
- Make outbound phone calls to follow-up with customers regarding marketing materials sent and outreach throughout the year
- Submit customer orders by referring to price lists and product literature
- Coordinate orders with distribution team as necessary.
- Process customer website orders and returns
- Resolve customer issues by problem solving, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Report daily call summary, weekly work plans, and monthly/ annual analyses to management
- Maintain records for customer sales
- Use SAP to set up new accounts and process new orders
- Travel and support customers and the sales team at jewelry trade shows
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience handling heavy call volume
- At least 2 years working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Outlook
- SAP (ERP) system experience a plus
- Acute attention to detail
- Adaptable and the ability to work in a fast- paced environment are essential
- Excellent communication skills and good judgement required
- Great people skills
