Essential Job Functions:

  • Organize and implement a structured orientation program for new nursing employees to ensure full acclimation to facility policies and procedures
  • Coordinate on-boarding and mentoring programs for all nursing staff categories
  • Develop and conduct in-services to educate staff on nursing policies, procedures, and safety
  • Coordinate and conduct training on computer systems
  • Serve as primary contact for routine technology needs
  • Observe and measure the competency of clinical employees
  • Provide feedback to the Director of Nursing on staff performance
  • Assist with screening and interviewing of new applicants
  • Administer and track required tests and immunizations
  • Track employee certifications, licenses, and training compliance
  • Develop and maintain staffing schedules
  • Provide direct patient care as needed
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a valid Alabama Practical Nurse license
  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
  • CPR certification required within thirty days of employment

Physical Requirements for Essential Job Functions:

  • Intermittent movement throughout the workday
  • Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress
  • Reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently
  • Visual and auditory capability, or prosthetics to support these senses
  • Ability to move a minimum of 100 pounds with proper body mechanics
  • Ability to walk/stand 75% of the day
