Laboratory Materials Tester Position at TRI Environmental in Austin, Texas

Job Type: Full-time

Description:

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • This role involves conducting laboratory tests on various materials.
    • Materials tested include but are not limited to cement block, ground, cement, gravel, geosynthetics, and other substances.

General Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process samples for testing.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, manage sample storage, location data, lab records, and journals.
  • Effectively communicate with lab management, lab team, and customers.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and records of test findings.
  • Perform other necessary tasks as assigned.

Compensation: $18 - $22 per hour, depending on expertise

Schedule: Monday-Friday 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm - Location: Austin, Texas

Requirements:

  • Collaborate with team members to upkeep a clean and orderly lab following QA/QC standards and certification prerequisites.
  • Assist with additional lab duties when needed.
  • Capable of lifting items weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Flexible to work irregular shifts and overtime hours.
  • Proficient in interpreting test instructions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Adept at lifting, shifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 30 to 50 pounds routinely. Occasionally handle items over 50 pounds with help.
  • Frequent kneeling and squatting.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma / GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of background in testing / examining construction materials like cement, ground, bitumen, and/or stone.
  • Proficiency in Basic Mathematics, Calculator Skills, and Computer Literacy.
  • Prior forklift certification advantageous, prior certification considered based on experience.
