A Sample Preparation Technician is responsible for receiving, examining, and organizing donor plasma and serum specimens for analysis in a fast-paced plasma testing facility.
Position Details
Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour
Shift Premiums for 2nd (12%), 3rd (20%), and weekend (8%) shifts
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and prepare incoming specimens for testing procedures.
- Handle sample cancellations and resubmissions efficiently.
- Conduct daily reconciliation of samples.
- Perform routine maintenance on refrigerators, freezers, and laboratory instruments.
- Maintain cleanliness of workspaces and manage biohazardous waste disposal.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- No prior experience is necessary.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to write legibly and neatly.
- Basic math and computer skills are essential, along with effective communication abilities.
- Capability to apply logical reasoning to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to resolve issues within established standard operating procedures.
- Work is conducted in an office setting with exposure to standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Exposure to hazardous materials, cold environments, and biological risks is possible.
- Typical noise levels are moderate.
- Physical activities include sitting, standing, and handling materials for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds may be required.
