Overview

The Engineer for Radiological Emergency Planning Outreach is responsible for the coordination and execution of all Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) Emergency Planning (EP) outreach activities with Federal, State and local officials. This individual is responsible for maintaining a strong and collaborative relationship with our civil leadership partners and also would be responsible for liaising with the Area Commander's representative to coordinate EB's participation and support. Additionally the individual would responsible for the development of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) and Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) between EB and other entities with respect to Radiological Emergency Planning. The individual is also the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Lead for the NNPP Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Outreach and will be required to lead NNPP Enterprise meetings on Outreach. The individual would also be required to develop and deliver unclassified briefings about the NNPP and EB's support in that area to non-NNPP entities as required

Responsibilities
  • High level of organization and the ability to lead different program elements simultaneously
  • Ability to have policy-level discussions with senior leadership in EB, Navy, and State/local government entities.
  • High level of understanding of how Federal, State, and local entities interact with EB
Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • 10 years Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience
  • 5 years of Radiological Controls experience
Preferred:
  • 5 years Radiological Emergency Planning experience
