About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer to join our team as a Construction Support Engineer for the Columbia Class program. As a key member of our team, you will provide engineering oversight and assistance to trade personnel, evaluate emergent shipyard issues, and develop technically acceptable resolutions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering oversight and assistance to trade personnel
  • Evaluate emergent shipyard issues and develop resolutions
  • Interpret design, drawing, and specification requirements
  • Provide direction and evaluation to Groton trades
  • Support final assembly, test, certification, and delivery activities for Columbia Class
  • Provide surveillance of manufacturing, inspection, and testing of material in the Groton shipyard
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering evaluations
  • Facilitate implementation of design, lessons learned, and process improvements
  • Coordinate engagement of design and engineering SMEs in the construction sequence
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Structural, Civil, or Marine Engineering
  • Three years of discipline-specific engineering experience
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance or higher
Preferred Skills
  • Prior deck plate construction experience
  • Familiarity with Electronic Desktop and Team Center
  • Prior US Navy experience
