Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our Construction Support team at General Dynamics Electric Boat. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the construction of our ballistic missile submarines.
Key Responsibilities- Provide engineering oversight and assistance to trade personnel to ensure the safe and efficient completion of construction activities.
- Evaluate emergent shipyard issues and develop technically acceptable resolutions to support the construction process.
- Interpret design, drawing, and specification requirements to ensure compliance with Navy standards.
- Provide direction and evaluation to Groton trades via disposition of CNs and TIR UNSATs.
- Support final assembly, test, certification, and delivery activities for COLUMBIA Class submarines.
- Provide surveillance of manufacturing, inspection, and testing of material in the Groton shipyard.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering evaluations to identify and implement process improvements.
- Facilitate the implementation of design changes and lessons learned to support the construction process.
- Coordinate engagement of design and engineering SMEs in the construction sequence.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Structural, Civil, or Marine Engineering.
- Ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance or higher.
- Prior deck plate construction experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Electronic Desktop (7G, Work Orders, ELCADD, ERS, etc.)
- Familiarity with Team Center (CR/CN experience)
- Prior US Navy experience
