About the role:



The Early Head Start Family Child Educator at OCCDA will deliver educational and family services to families with infants/toddlers and pregnant women in a home-based setting across Okanogan County and Bridgeport. These services include visits with the child's parents mainly at home, and group socialization opportunities in a classroom, community facility, or during field trips. The Family Child Educator will emphasize parent-child interactions to encourage positive parenting behaviors, provide evidence-based information on developmental topics, and prioritize family well-being for healthy family functioning.

Required Education and Experience:

  • General and Initial State Certificate or higher degree, OR
  • Department of Children Youth and Families equivalent education

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or relevant coursework as part of an associate's or bachelor's degree
  • One year of professional experience working with infants, toddlers, and families to show and ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum, promoting children's progress in various areas
  • Post Hire Training Requirements:
    • Parents as Teachers Foundational Training within 3 months of hire
    • Mobility Mentoring within 3 months of hire
    • Teaching Strategies GOLD child assessment within 3 months of hire
    • Conscious Discipline internal training
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred

This position involves 40 hours per week for 48 weeks annually, with a starting salary of $21.35 for qualified candidates. If not qualified for this role, please contact Josie Bent for more information on our provisional hiring process.
