In the role of Child Development Aide, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the educational experiences of young children and their families. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with educators to implement engaging curricula, ensuring a safe and enriching classroom atmosphere, and fostering family involvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist educators in executing age-appropriate educational programs and activities.
  • Provide attentive supervision and care for children within the classroom setting.

  • Encourage family participation and maintain strong relationships with parents and guardians.

Qualifications

  • Washington State ECE Initial Certificate or Preschool Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Experience in working with young children and their families.
  • Understanding of early childhood development and educational practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for supporting migrant and seasonal farmworker families.
  • Capability to thrive in a multicultural and diverse setting.

Candidates lacking the minimum educational qualifications will need to enroll in a higher education program aimed at obtaining a State Initial Certificate in ECE and must be on a Professional Development Plan with a specified timeline.

Compensation:

$19.46 to $22.96 Hourly (6.5 month position)

Employment Conditions:

  1. Completion of a pre-employment drug screening and TB skin test by an approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
  2. Pre-employment physical examination by an EPIC healthcare provider (to be completed within 30 days of employment at no cost to the employee).
  3. Successful completion of an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
  4. Proof of MMR vaccination and/or immunity to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
  5. Current Food Handlers card (training to be completed within 30 days of employment).
  6. Current First Aid/CPR certification (to be obtained within 30 days of employment).
  7. Completion of Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
  8. Approval from the CEO.
