In the role of Child Development Aide, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the educational experiences of young children and their families. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with educators to implement engaging curricula, ensuring a safe and enriching classroom atmosphere, and fostering family involvement.
Key Responsibilities- Assist educators in executing age-appropriate educational programs and activities.
- Provide attentive supervision and care for children within the classroom setting.
- Prioritize the safety and welfare of children at all times.
- Foster a warm and stimulating learning environment.
- Encourage family participation and maintain strong relationships with parents and guardians.
- Support meal and snack preparation and oversee related activities.

- Adhere to program policies and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Commit to maintaining a culture of safety across all environments where children are present, and actively promote the ethos of 'See Something, Say Something.'
Qualifications
- Washington State ECE Initial Certificate or Preschool Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
- Experience in working with young children and their families.
- Understanding of early childhood development and educational practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for supporting migrant and seasonal farmworker families.
- Capability to thrive in a multicultural and diverse setting.
Candidates lacking the minimum educational qualifications will need to enroll in a higher education program aimed at obtaining a State Initial Certificate in ECE and must be on a Professional Development Plan with a specified timeline.
Compensation:
$19.46 to $22.96 Hourly (6.5 month position)

Employment Conditions:
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screening and TB skin test by an approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
- Pre-employment physical examination by an EPIC healthcare provider (to be completed within 30 days of employment at no cost to the employee).
- Successful completion of an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
- Proof of MMR vaccination and/or immunity to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
- Current Food Handlers card (training to be completed within 30 days of employment).
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (to be obtained within 30 days of employment).
- Completion of Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
- Approval from the CEO.
