In the role of Educational Support Specialist, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the educational experiences of children and families by aiding in the provision of high-quality early childhood education services. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with educators to implement curricula, ensuring the safety and care of children, fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere, and promoting family involvement.
Key Responsibilities- Assist educators in executing developmentally suitable curricula and activities
- Provide supervision, care, and support for children within the classroom
- Guarantee the safety and well-being of children at all times
- Establish a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment
- Encourage family engagement and maintain positive relationships with families
- Support meal and snack preparation and supervision
- Keep accurate records and documentation as required

- Adhere to program policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Washington State ECE Initial Certificate or Preschool Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) *
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience working with young children and their families
- Understanding of early childhood development and educational principles
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine passion for supporting migrant and seasonal farmworker families
- Capability to adapt to a multicultural and diverse environment
Candidates who do not meet the minimum educational qualifications will need to enroll in a higher education institution towards a State Initial Certificate in ECE and be on a Professional Development Plan with a confirmed deadline.
Compensation:
$19.46 to $22.96 Hourly (6.5 month position)

Employment Conditions:
- Complete a pre-employment drug screening and TB skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
- Undergo a pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (to be completed within 30 days of employment at no cost to the employee).
- Pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
- Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
- Obtain a current Food Handlers card (training to be completed within 30 days of employment).
- Acquire a current First Aid/CPR card (to be obtained within 30 days of employment).
- Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
- Obtain CEO Approval.
