The Manufacturing Intern at Mate Precision Technologies will perform general maintenance on various machines, learn to operate manual and CNC machines within their department, and inspect the products they are running using various measuring devices.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set up and run various machines, both manual and CNC machines.
  • Inspect work using gaging and inspection devices to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Meet expectations for productivity and quality while also striving for continuous improvement.
  • Follow guidelines established for work scheduling and understand delivery objectives.
  • Participates in continuous improvement and lean activities.
  • Collaborate with others, is open-minded, responsive, and supportive of others' efforts to succeed.
  • Demonstrate integrity by being dependable, having good judgment, being honest, and taking responsibility for their actions.
  • Respectful of others, actively listening and encouraging them to share their ideas, and having common courtesy.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current enrollment in a CNC Technology program at a technical college is required.
  • Good attitude and is self-motivated.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.
  • A willingness to learn new machining skills.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Occasional bending and stooping.
  • Use of hand to finger.
  • Lift, move, and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • The noise level is moderate.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
