Job Summary:


The Program Coordinator - AmeriCorps Public Allies in the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE) at Rollins College will be immersed in hands-on experiences in student affairs.

The Program Coordinator will work to facilitate partnerships with various community organizations, assess the needs of those organizations, and serve as a liaison to pair these needs with the passions of Rollins students.

The Program Coordinator - AmeriCorps Public Allies will also have the unique opportunity to be able to create, develop, and enhance existing programs for CLCE, with a particular emphasis on the Bonner Leaders Program.


Primary responsibilities include:


Provide comprehensive advising and related support to prospective and current student participants in CLCE programs, with an emphasis on Bonner Leaders, helping students connect their civic engagement to their academic and career pursuits; acts as student advocate, and provides day-to-day problem solving as necessary on student needs and issues.

Direct oversight of the Rollins College Give Pulse platform, which serves to list and manage all volunteer and community organization events, hours, and fundraisers.

Develop and facilitate training for Bonner Leaders related to the program's six common commitments: civic engagement, community building, social justice, diversity, spiritual exploration, and international perspective.

Supervise three Bonner Interns who assist in program management by leading weekly team meetings, routine 1:1s, and communicating daily tasks.

Participate in the planning, coordination, publicity, implementation, and evaluation of CLCE events, including one-time service, meetings, conferences, and/or special events; coordinating budgets, speakers, facilities, technology, equipment, logistical requirements, accommodations and travel, catering, and other related applicable event activities.

Support the onboarding process for student volunteers, including recruitment, orientations, and ongoing training.
Oversee the volunteer management platform Givepulse to track volunteer and non-profit experience.
Align CLCE's student engagement efforts with other units by managing select on-campus partnerships.

Active participant of a team that includes a director, an associate director, an assistant director, an office coordinator, two graduate assistants, and several student employees.

Available at least 37.5 hours a week (in the office) that includes flexibility on weekdays, weekends, and some evenings to execute and support both day and evening service programs.

Serve a minimum of 1,700 hours in his or her placement (Rollins College's Center for Leadership and Community Engagement).
Attend bi-weekly skill-building and leadership development sessions alongside his or her cohort of Public Allies.

Attend other AmeriCorps or Public Allies Site required events, including, but not limited to core, mid-year and year-end retreats as outlined on the program year calendar.

Create and support student development and growth as it relates to community engagement.

Work with faculty on SPARC (Service, Passion, Action, Rollins College) and other academic service-learning initiatives through the Rollins College Conference (RCC) First-year experience program.

Act as a representative of the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement, answering questions and providing information to any interested parties.

Attend weekly 1:1 meetings with the Associate Director, Bonner Leaders Program Interns, CLCE Staff meetings, and retreats to discuss visioning, communication, projects, roles, feedback and growth.

Assist with office procedures, tasks, and protocol when needed and other duties as assigned per the needs of the office and community.


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
Valid Florida driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR) are required.
Knowledge of best practices in student affairs and civic engagement

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Ability to gather and analyze data and generate reports.
Knowledge and understanding of meeting and event planning principles, requirements, procedures, and available resources.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Knowledge of event facilities, technology, and equipment.
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.

Compensation:
The Program Coordinator is a 14-month appointment, anticipated to start late May or early June end of July 2025.

This appointment is broken into two phases:
May/June -

September

2024

The incumbent will start late May/early June with Rollins College at the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement for training purposes and to support the Bonner Orientation process

The Program Coordinator will:
Work 25-30 hours/week during this period
Be compensated $15.00/hour during the working months of May, June, July and August

September

202- July 2025

Beginning in mid-September 2024, the incumbent will transition to a ten-month apprenticeship with Public Allies Central Florida, working approximately 42.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) for the Partner Organization and Public Allies (1700 hours in total over the 10 months).

This apprenticeship is scheduled to run through July 31, 2025.
The Program Coordinator will receive :

A stipend of $28,274.27 that is determined by the Public Allies Central Florida entity
The option of enrolling in an AmeriCorps approved health insurance program
Office space and use of a computer
Free parking pass

Scholarship and Loan Forbearance
Completion of the 10 month Public Allies term entails being awarded a Segal AmeriCorps education award for $7,395.

Also, during the 10 month term of service, any payments due on federally backed student loans are put on forbearance, with interest accrued on said loans during the term of service to be paid off after successfully completing the program.

Professional Development

The Center for Leadership and Community Engagement provides $500 for the Ally to use in the name of professional development.

Conferences, workshops, seminars, and certification trainings are all examples of things eligible for use of professional development money.

TarBuc$
Each semester, The Center for Leadership and Community Engagement will provide the Ally with $250 worth of TarBuc$.
