General Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Specialized Services Birth to 21 Executive Director and district Superintendent, the Assistant Director of Special Education/Federal Programs Director oversees school district special education programs and manages federal and state grant programs such as Title I, Migrant, and LAP. This role involves supervising program aspects, leading program developments, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Salary Information:

The salary range for this role is $107, $131. Offers are typically made at the lower end of the range.

Assignment:

This full-time position covers 215 days and supports Goldendale and Centerville School Districts.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and lead special education programs
  • Coordinate services for special education students
  • Supervise and develop special education staff
  • Build relationships with stakeholders
  • Ensure program compliance

Working as Federal Programs Director:

  • Collaborate with the administrative team
  • Prepare and manage grants
  • Provide support for staff development
  • Facilitate training programs
  • Engage with state and federal contacts
  • Participate in professional development
  • Encourage communication with parents and community
  • Support long-term program development

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Washington administrative credential
  • Washington teaching certificate or ESA certification
  • Masters degree
  • Teaching or certificated experience
  • Administrative experience in special education
