Public Service Coordinator at NALP

NALP is seeking a Public Service Coordinator to assist in managing and enhancing ongoing public service initiatives. As a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit legal educational association, NALP is dedicated to supporting its members in becoming experts in their field. The organization focuses on career counseling, professional development of law students and lawyers, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in legal education and employment.

The Public Service Coordinator will oversee a unique online platform designed to help law students and professionals discover public service job opportunities and career resources. Responsibilities include maintaining and expanding the platform's job listings, employer directory, and professional development resources. The Coordinator will analyze performance metrics and collaborate with a small data entry team. Additionally, they will liaise with public interest organizations and employers, respond to inquiries, and conduct informational sessions.

This role requires proficiency in database management, spreadsheet use, and word processing. The ideal candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills, initiative, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Prior experience in customer service and familiarity with MS Office are essential, while knowledge of Google Workspace and basic technology skills are advantageous.

Applicants should also be willing to travel occasionally. This hybrid position involves working on-site at the NALP office 1-2 days per month in Washington, D.C. or nearby areas. Due to organizational requirements, candidates must be located in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC.

The Public Service Coordinator will report to the Senior Director of Operations, Member Services, and Meetings, and the Director of Public Service Initiatives. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, paid holidays, sick leave, vacation time, and a retirement plan. The starting salary ranges from $50,000 to $60,000, commensurate with experience. Immediate availability for this position.
