About the Criminalize Survivors Program: The STEPS Criminalize Survivors Program, established for over three decades, offers comprehensive clinical and legal support to survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) or gender-based violence (GBV) who have faced legal repercussions for their actions against abusive partners. Services are available for survivors with felony or misdemeanor charges in all boroughs. Additionally, the program has a dedicated advocate/counselor at the Manhattan and Brooklyn Family Justice Centers and a Training Team shaping the city's response to survivor criminalization.

The CSP Supervisor will provide consistent and supportive supervision to a portion of the direct service ATI staff. They must hold an advanced clinical degree, possess substantial direct practice and supervisory experience, and be capable of supervising graduate students. The Supervisor will collaborate to address administrative and reporting requirements of the ATI contract, manage a small caseload of ATI clients, and handle intakes and referrals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent and supportive supervision to direct service ATI staff and graduate students;
  • Collaborate to meet administrative and reporting needs of the ATI contract;
  • Offer survivor-centered counseling and advocacy to a caseload of ATI clients;
  • Manage intakes and referrals;
  • Contribute to planning and leading weekly team meetings and annual retreats with CSP Director;
  • Work with leadership to monitor and ensure ATI service quality;
  • Lead group supervision sessions utilizing Seeking Safety or other evidence-based interventions;
  • Execute additional tasks as delegated by STEPS leadership.

Qualifications

  • LMSW or LMHC certification mandatory;
  • MSW or equivalent graduate degree required;
  • Strong counseling, advocacy, and supervisory skills essential;
  • Thorough understanding of gender-based violence dynamics and oppressive systems;
  • Commitment to anti-oppressive, healing-centered practice;
  • High self-awareness and adeptness in giving and receiving feedback;
  • Keen attention to detail and adeptness with systems and processes;
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility, accountability, passion, and humor.

Starting Salary $84,500.00

Hybrid (2) remote, (3) in-office
